A 12 Month Interactive Intensive to Prepare Your Insurance Organization’s Future CEO.

If your current CEO is planning to transition out of the CEO spot in the next 1-10 years, you have likely already identified one or more potential candidates for the role. But how prepared are your future CEOs?

This transition is much more than a “changing of the guard.” Your next CEO must understand how to grow the business while sustaining the key elements have made your organization successful.

Great leaders are made, not born. It’s important to provide a formal leadership training that uplevels your future leader’s effectiveness.

That is why DBH developed our specialized Leadership Groups: CEO Track – to foster transformational leadership development in the insurance industry.

Who should participate?

DBH’s CEO Track leadership groups are perfect for those leaders in your organization who have CEO-potential. This 12-month program exposes potential CEO candidates to veteran insurance industry CEO mentors and to a peer group of high-achieving leaders.

This is a unique opportunity to engage in robust dialogue around core leadership characteristics and competencies. Small groups meet monthly for one year for a transformative learning experience.


Measuring your emerging leader's progress throughout the program:

Assessment - Participants begin their 12-month journey by taking the Campbell Leadership Descriptor, which identifies characteristics for successful leadership and helps the participant gauge strengths and areas for improvement. Participants re-take the assessment at 6 months to mark progress and areas for further development.

Leadership Project
- Each participant will create a community leadership project and have opportunities to discuss progress, challenges, and lessons learned throughout the year.

CEO Check-in
- Participants will be encouraged to establish a monthly review with their CEOs to discuss learning points and identify areas to bring a higher level of contribution to the organization. Learn more about our team of CEO Leaders.

DBH Review
- We will provide regular progress reports to each participant's CEO to convey observed progress and areas for continued development.

Goal-Setting -
Each participant will work with a DBH Consultant to establish and track individual goals for the program.

Individual Attention
- Participants will have ample opportunity for personal interaction with their assigned DBH consultant throughout the 12-month program.

Highlights of program elements

Participant Orientation -
We work closely with each enrolled member to discover their baseline of knowledge and experience, and guide them in setting individual goals for the program.

CEO Leaders - Each group's CEO Leader provides modeling, mentoring, wisdom and insight.

In-Person Launch - Each group begins with a gathering at the CEO Leader's location to establish group guidelines, preview the program agenda and build connection. The remaining group meetings are held via conference calls.

Leadership Project - Participants create a leadership project within their local communities as a focal point for their growth throughout the program.

Skilled Facilitation - DBH Facilitators are highly skilled in the art and science of group facilitation, and will create a group space that invites rich dialogue and ensures impact.

Case Studies - Participants have opportunities to examine real-life examples of effective leadership.

Assignments - A variety of relevant assignments help deepen participants' learning between monthly calls.

Theme-based Calls - Each group meets monthly via conference call for robust dialogue centered on a series of themes, including:

      Core Values - Authenticity, integrity, humility,
      service-orientation, trust and respect.

      Key Competencies - Visioning; execution and
      accountability; innovation; the ability to engage
      and empower people; creating a followership; and
      influencing culture.

      Essential Skills - Listening, advocacy/inquiry, dialogue,
      conflict management, embracing and driving change,
      resistance, and problem solving.

      Presence/Self Awareness - Focuses on the 
      importance of personal presence in areas such as    
      passion, ability to inspire others, modeling,           
      reflecting, intellectual curiosity, and commitment.

      Path to CEO - Participants will explore the career path
      from producer to leader to CEO and transition to   
      C-Suite.

      Wide Lens of a Leader - An effective leader must
      have a working knowledge of the key functional areas
      within their organization: finance, operations, human
      resources/recruiting, technology, sales and marketing.

Each group is limited to 6-10 participants for a more powerful learning experience. Price: $5,200, not including travel.

Next session: June 12-13 in Bellevue, Washington. Group meets for dinner on the evening of June 12, and then will gather for an orientation session on July 13, with DBH and your group's CEO Leader, Greg Collins, Principal & CEO of Parker, Smith & Feek.

Ongoing: The remainder of your sessions will be conducted via monthly 90-minute teleconference calls. All calls take place at 8:00am-9:30am PST.
