How we work (and get results)

All of the clients who hire DBH Consulting seek to grow their business – and sustain that growth. Yet every engagement is unique, as no two clients are exactly alike.

We do, however, follow a process that has consistently generated results.

This process begins with our gaining deep insight into your company. We do this by consulting with leadership and conducting 1-1 interviews with key stakeholders to identify themes across the organization and uncover gaps that require attention. Then we issue a Findings Report that includes a recommended course of action specific to your needs.

This course of action may involve some or all of the following:

Growth planning.
While your company’s business strategy must be built around the vision of leadership, we are skilled at involving a broad array of stakeholders in the planning process. This has a powerful effect: It deepens the commitment of the company’s employees while laying the foundation for accountability across the organization. Planning execution.
The typical consultancy will swoop in, facilitate a planning process, then take flight – leaving behind a plan that may or may not be implemented. Execution is what distinguishes DBH Consulting: Clients hire us after the planning process has been completed to help carry out the plan. Through monthly or quarterly meetings and conference calls, we facilitate follow-up activities that accelerate planning initiatives and help remove obstacles to progress. This follow-up has proved to be the driving factor for exponential growth.

Sales effectiveness. Some of the independent agencies and brokerages that hire us seek to generate greater results from their producers and sales professionals. The services we provide in this arena are far more robust than “sales training.” They begin with assessing how your professionals approach prospects; developing a complete skill set in consultative selling; and generating greater accountability to the sales plan. Leadership development. Quite often, an agency or brokerage is built on the talent and ingenuity of an individual or small group of individuals. As the company grows, these founders may need to develop new skill sets to manage company development and growth. We help executives develop these skills so that they become influential leaders. This is not a coaching service; it’s a specialized practice with a distinct point of view, one that leverages years of working with board-level and C-level individuals at agencies, brokerages, carriers and other insurance distribution companies.
